1.  Literacy Lift Off

The  Literacy Lift Off programme is a corner stone of Literacy instruction in Scoil Íosagáin.

The Literacy Lift Off programme is an intensive reading intervention programme for helping literacy and writing levels and leads to improvements in pupils’ attitudes to literacy, reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension and writing skills.

 

2.  Reading Recovery Programme

We are delighted to be part of the Reading Recovery Programme, which was introduced to Cork for the first time in 2005. This is an early intervention programme designed to help children who may be experiencing problems with literacy. Any boys experiencing issues with his Literacy Development will be brought out for a one to one reading programme which will endeavor to improve his skills at a very rapid rate and allow him to return to his class with the skills that he needs to continue flourishing.
