What is the Green Schools Programme?

Green-Schools, known internationally as Eco-Schools, is an international environmental education programme, environmental management system and award scheme that promotes and acknowledges long-term, whole school action for the environment.

Eco-Schools is operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) whose main partners include the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Our students care about environmental issues and wish to make a positive change in the environments around them. The Green Schools programme provides an ideal way for fostering environmental awareness in our school and it is an intrinsic part of life and ethos of our school.

Currently the school has been awarded the Green Flag for Litter and Waste, Energy, Water, Travel and we are moving onto earning the Global Citizenship Flags.
